CHEAPER TO HIRE A PROSTITUTE TO SLIT YOUR THROAT. WE KNOW WHERE YOU WORK, WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, WE KNOW WHAT YOU DRIVE. BACK OFF! Please be very careful. Early in the development of the pool Ted was interested in chrome plating plastic pipes, presumably to to simulate metal and cut costs and quality. This is why his pools failed, cut corners. See the inquiry: http://www.finishing.com/336/45.shtml or below Letter #Chrome-Plating PVC pipe [California] Jan 4, 2005 I am wanting to know if it possible to chrome plate over the counter PVC pipe (schedule 80 to be specific)? If so, where would I look for a source for this process? Thanks. Ted Gillebaard Did Ted Gillebaard know anything about the pressures of tens of thousands of gallons of water? PVC? PVC usage has only been used in the smallest of pools and has since been discontinued. You'll have to be the judge of that. The rest of the post (Response was omitted) Jan 10, 2005 Thanks for the information. The chroming is for the look. I am using the pipe as part of a soft-sided above ground swimming pool frame. They attach using a 1.9OD metal pipe. Chroming would give the frame a more finished and "richer" look. I have learned from an extruder that I can either extrude with a plate-able ABS or have a powder coater paint a metallic paint over it, then chrome plate it (I am waiting to see price-cost comparisons before choosing). If no further feedback comes from here, I will try one of those options. Thanks again. Ted Gillebaard
