The History Of Arthur's Pools

It was 1945 and the world was nearing the end of a nasty war. As the enemies surrendered the hopes of America and Americans began to rise and their looked to be a light at the end of a very long tunnel

1946 :With the return of the boys from over seas came the time of family and suburbia. And Arthur's once again supplied the needs of the American family in the swimming pool arena by supplying top quality pools, products, supplies and advice. As the country matured, so did the above ground pool industry, and soon Arthur's Toys and Pools soon began to sell colorful and decorative pools. With the assent of plastic, inflatable pool toys and wading pools joined the line of Arthur's Toys and Pools products.

The seventies and eighties proved to be a successful era for above ground pools and the choices became plentiful. Many sizes, shapes and depths appeared. As technology improved so did the world of above ground pools. New coating technologies, construction techniques and materials like resin and polymers began to give above ground pools a long lasting life span.

The nineties brought us the most startling technology changes.  The Knock Down or KD pool opened the era of the portable pool. Suddenly you could have a full function above ground pool and put it away for the winter, or move it when you move.  KD was the originator of the portable pools but as with any great idea, it was emulated and many more came. Another technology that arose in the nineties was the internet. In 1997 Arthur's Toys and Pools became Arthurspools.com and we began doing business on the internet. We thought of it as a way to supplement local sales but soon we were selling pools around the corner and around the world. The internet business was off and running, even if we were still just learning.

In the 2000's The internet came into it's own and we began to do the majority of our business on line. Selling pools in six of the seven continents (Antarctica has yet to discover the world of above ground pools...little cold I guess.) And in almost every country on the globe.  Above ground pools, portable pools, inground pools, never ending pools, therapy pools, lap pools, event pools  every kind of pool as found it's way out of the loading dock of our store and into homes around the world. In all the years we have been selling pools many things have changed. But one thing hasn't changed, the enjoyment of a shimmering pool on a hot summer day and the giggle of children enjoying the good things of life.
