when Acidic water (water who's
pH is too low) is splashed up to
the top of the pool and is left
to dry there. The acidic left
over of the water combine with
the virulent summer sun to begin
to change the soft material into
a scaly hard and discolored
material. Left untended this can
eventually lead to pool failure.
Solutions: 1. First and foremost if you monitor your pH and keep it within acceptable ranges (7.2 - 7.6) this problem will not occur. 2. Keep your pool covered (after wiping the the top ledge down) 3. If this process has already started, slice vacuum hoses down the center longways and they will clamp along the top rail protecting your top rail from the sun and water at all times.
