Ground Preparation
In our example we will be seeing the assembly of a round pool. As things differ for oval pools we will show those to you as well. The first step installing an above ground pool is preparing the ground. The ground must be flat, level and compacted. Ground can be compacted by the following process. 1. Soak the ground area in question with a sprinkler for 2 hours. 2 Allow to dry completely 3. Repeat the process . This should give you nicely compacted earth to deal with. Laying out your space can be accomplished in the method illustrated below.
ROUND POOLS For a round pool, mark out the diameter of the pool by using a pole in the center of your area with a string half the width of your pool. For Math Whizzes that's the Radius (9ft) and Diameter (18ft). Then using the string walk in a circle and mark out your circumference. We suggest using chalk. The pool is this example is 18ft Around
Oval Pools Oval Pools are a little more involved, but follow much the same process.. This example is for a 18ft x 33ft Oval Pool. First mark out your length and width and find the center point down the middle of the pool. Mark a point half the width of the pool down the center line. In this case half of 18 is 9 so mark your point nine feet down the center line. Do this on both ends of the pool and trace out the half circle ends of the pool just like you did with the round pool. The 15ft in the middle you can consider straight lines.
I promise you that this ends the math lesson. The rest of the process
involves a little logic and science but the math is over
